For today’s entry, I will be giving tips and tricks on how to level up your study skills (not in a nerd, cliché method obviously.. pfft). Since the new semester is about to heat its engine, I figured out maybe it’s the right time to share these tips. So, first and foremost, who am I? I’m a graduated student from UPSI and I took English as my major. As for my results, I can say I’m a well-done student (been on the dean’s list for 4 semesters).
Let’s cut the chase and go straight to our topic for today…
You need to enhance your LISTENING SKILLS during classes. This might seems like a cliché tip but if you don’t want to be the student who studies everything last minute before the exam, you NEED to do this. Honestly, if you listen properly during your classes, you will only have to scan your notes instead of reading them from cover to cover. Jot down important points while listening so that you won’t doze off (hahaha).
Make sure your notes are up-to-date even when you skipped classes. Use varieties of colour to make your notes interesting. You can even use stickers and bookmarks to-do so. Your notes are the only trusted source when doing assignments (besides books from the library or lecturer ofc).
Go for entertainment once a week. By doing so, you won’t stress yourself out. I mean, who studies 24/7? Go enjoy yourself, spend time with friends, chill out at your favourite restaurants or café, have a movie night, karaoke etc.
Make sure that you manage to finish your assignment 2 to 3 days before the due to avoid sleepless nights and overstress. By doing so, you also will be having much time to recheck your assignments or to give them a few corrections before the submission.
Reward yourself even for small achievements. Once you’re done with your tough assignments or presentations, spoil yourself with what you love! Especially after your examinations. You deserve it.
Make your to-do list. This will help you to keep track of your activities and also reminds you if you have appointments with your lecturers.
